The Zodiac Collection

Our latest jewelry design competition is going to focus on one of the classic designs - the Zodiac collection. The challenge is for you to create a collection that will bring an element of uniqueness to a well-marketed concept with a simplistic and minimalistic mindset.

Following the feedback from our participants in the previous competitions we have decided to create two categories for designers to win:

Judges' Favorite

Awarded to the design that receives the highest points as per the judges' criteria.

Popular vote

Awarded to the design that receives the most votes from the public.

     

    Both the winners will receive:

    • A 10% royalty on the net sales of their collection (12 pieces), which will be manufactured and showcased at internationally renowned jewelry shows.
    • $200 credit to use in the Veekay store.
    • A certificate of recognition for their accomplishment.
    • One of our signature universal bracelets as per the color of their choice.

    Competition Stages

    The competition will consist of two stages:

    Stage 1: The Qualifications

    Participants will submit their designs with respect to the material restrictions. The judging panel will then grade the pieces as per the judging criteria and select the top five designs.

     

    Stage 2: The Popular vote

    The five finalist designs will be shared with the public for voting. After two weeks, the votes will be tallied and the two winners (judges favorite and popular vote) will be declared. 

     

    Rules

    Participants must submit a sample of their zodiac collection, it must consist of a minimum of 3 designs. 

    The pieces can be earrings, pendants and/or rings. 

    There is no limit to the number of submissions per contestant.

     

    Material Restrictions

    The aim is to create a piece that is striking and simplistic.

    The manufacturing of the designs are limited to the following materials:

    • Natural gemstones: diamonds (white, brown, yellow) and corundum (white, yellow, green, red, pink, blue)
      • The diameter of the stones can have a range of 1.25 mm to 2.10 mm
      • A maximum of 15 stones can be used per piece
    • Gold or Silver
      • A maximum of 3 grams of 18kt gold or sterling silver

    Please note: if the submitted pieces are deemed excessive to the material restrictions they will not qualify for participation in the competition.

      

    Prizes

    Judges Favorite and Popular Vote will receive:

    • A 10% royalty on the net sales of their collection, which will be manufactured and showcased at internationally renowned jewelry shows.
    • $200 credit to use in the Veekay store.
    • A certificate of recognition for their accomplishment.

    Finalists will receive:

    • $100 credit to use in the Veekay store.
    • A certificate of recognition for their accomplishment.
